Trip Overview
The Annapurna Base Camp trek takes you into the heart of the Annapurna Sanctuary, a natural amphitheatre surrounded by towering peaks including Annapurna I (8,091m), Machhapuchhre (Fishtail), and Hiunchuli. This 8-day itinerary is a compact version of the classic ABC route, ideal for trekkers with limited time.
You will walk through lush rhododendron and bamboo forests, traditional Gurung and Magar villages, and high alpine terrain to reach Base Camp at 4,130m. The trek offers close-up views of some of the world's most iconic mountains and a true sense of being surrounded by the Himalaya.
- Day 1 : Arrival in Kathmandu
- Day 2 : Drive to Pokhara (820m) - 6-7 hours
- Day 3 : Drive to Nayapul, trek to Ulleri / Ghorepani (2,874m) - 5-6 hours
- Day 4 : Poon Hill sunrise, trek to Tadapani (2,630m) - 6-7 hours
- Day 5 : Tadapani to Chomrong (2,170m) - 5-6 hours
- Day 6 : Chomrong to Annapurna Base Camp (4,130m) via Deurali - 8-9 hours
- Day 7 : ABC to Bamboo / Jhinu, drive to Pokhara - 7-8 hours trek + drive
- Day 8 : Drive to Kathmandu and Departure
Day 1: Arrival in Kathmandu (1,400m)
Welcome to Nepal. Transfer to your hotel, meet your guide, and attend a pre-trek briefing.
Day 2: Drive to Pokhara (820m) - 6-7 hours
Scenic drive to Pokhara, the gateway to the Annapurna region.
Day 3: Drive to Nayapul, trek to Ulleri / Ghorepani (2,874m)
Short drive to Nayapul. Trek through villages and forests toward Ghorepani.
Day 4: Poon Hill sunrise, trek to Tadapani (2,630m)
Early morning hike to Poon Hill for sunrise views. After breakfast, trek to Tadapani.
Day 5: Tadapani to Chomrong (2,170m)
Descend through forest, then climb to Chomrong, the gateway to the Sanctuary.
Day 6: Chomrong to Annapurna Base Camp (4,130m)
Long day through Bamboo, Dovan, Deurali, and Machhapuchhre Base Camp to ABC. Stunning close-up views of Annapurna South, Hiunchuli, and Machhapuchhre.
Day 7: ABC to trailhead, drive to Pokhara
Retrace your steps to lower elevations, then drive back to Pokhara.
Day 8: Drive to Kathmandu and Departure
Drive to Kathmandu. Transfer to airport for your onward flight.

Essential Gear
- Trekking boots (well broken in), daypack (25-30 liters)
- Sleeping bag (0°C rated), trekking poles, headlamp with extra batteries
- Water bottles (2 liters), sunglasses, sunscreen (SPF 50+)
Clothing
- Base layers, fleece jacket, lightweight down jacket
- Waterproof jacket and pants, trekking pants, warm hat and gloves
