Ganesh Himal
Meander Himalaya Treks & Expedition Pvt. Ltd.
Your home in the Himalayas. We don’t just guide you through Nepal. We welcome you into it.
Some trekking companies sell itineraries. We sell belonging: the warmth of a Sherpa kitchen, a 6,000-metre sunrise, and the quiet pride of leaving a place better than you found it.
We are Meander Himalaya: a guide-owned, family-rooted, sustainability-driven trekking company born in the shadows of Mount Ganesh Himal and raised on the ancient trails of the Ruby Valley.
Two things set us apart. We grew up on these trails, not as guides, but as herders, farmers, and children chasing yaks across high pastures. And we are not here to extract from the Himalayas. We are here to protect them.
Meander is not just a word. It is a way of moving through the world: slow, intentional, and deeply curious. We don’t rush you through passes. We don’t treat the Himalayas like a checklist.
We meander through ancient forests, prayer-flag-strewn ridges, and villages where time moves at the pace of the seasons. And we do it with people who have been walking these paths since before they could read a map.
From grazing trails to trekking trails. The paths we walk with you are the paths we walked as children.

The journey
I wasn’t born into a trekking office. I was born under the shadow of holy Mount Ganesh Himal, in the heart of the Ruby Valley.
Welcome to Meander Himalaya. I’m Gyan Bahadur Tamang (Mamba), founder, certified Mountain Leader, and your guardian in these mountains.
My first trails weren’t marked on any map. They were the migratory paths of my family’s yaks and sheep. For years I lived as a farmer and herder, my life tuned to the rhythm of the seasons, the health of my flock, and the whisper of the wind through the high pastures. That mountain wasn’t just a view. It was my larder, my playground, and my most profound teacher.
My journey from carrying heavy loads as a porter, to guiding travelers along hidden Himalayan trails, to becoming a certified Mountain Leader and founder of Meander Himalaya has spanned over a decade. Through every step I’ve learned one truth: a truly great expedition rests on two pillars: intimate local knowledge and genuine, heart-warming hospitality.
When you walk with us, you’re not a client. You’re a guest in my childhood backyard. Come as a traveler. Leave as family.
We don’t just plan and lead your adventure. We welcome you into our story, with the same care once given to a herd, and the same awe of a Himalayan sunrise.
You’re not a client. You’re family.
The Himalayas deserve guardians, not tourists.
Sustainable travel isn’t optional. It’s essential.
The best journeys don’t just change you. They change the places you walk through.
Whether your dream is the summit of Mount Everest (8,848.86 m) or Nepal’s best-kept secrets, we are here to make it real.
From the ultimate challenge of an Everest expedition to immersive cultural journeys through the Ruby Valley, Tsum Valley, and Nar Phu Valley, we offer experiences that most travelers never even know exist.
We don’t just follow trails. We create pathways into the soul of the Himalayas: places where the Wi-Fi is weak, but the connection is strong. Places where the crowds fade, and the mountains speak directly to your heart.
